Too Much of a Good Thing

Apologies again as I'm trying mightily mentally to restart the blog engine but can't quite put a finger on the problem. Partial guilt belongs to the sheer activity volume, i.e., potential blog content(!), that kicked off with spring's arrival in May. However, thusly authorially rested for the past month and given a window of opportunity for the next two weeks (before our next trip), I can hopefully recount all our recent visits and excursions.

The only small distraction kicking off (pun slightly intended) this Saturday is the world's second-largest soccer event/tournament/ spectacle--the Euro Championships--that Switzerland is co-hosting with Austria. Second only to the World Cup in soccer depth and grandeur and held every alternating 4 years, the Euro 2008 tournament is a monumental event and we expect half the European population to descend on little Switzerland for all of June. As major international soccer fans (at least by American standards), we're anxiously awaiting the party.

As a teaser (and to keep my chronology straight) I'll mention that May saw separate visits from both Steph's and my parents with accompanying excursions encompassing most of the country, a weekend jaunt to schizophrenic (in a good way) Strasbourg, France with college friends, a week of borderline debauchery (except for the night in a monastery) in northern Spain with my younger brother and sister-in-law, a half-marathon successfully completed and our first Swiss dinner party hosted. Oh yes, and I'm way past due for a Hobbes update, since he's claiming more and more of Switzerland as his own (he's actually been to Swiss cities that we haven't, no kidding). And all with pictures, of course.

So stay tuned, keep those encouraging comments coming and wish our livers continued luck!
